Pictures of Child Surgery?

Hi, I know a couple whose nine year old daughter recently under went major heart surgery and some how they got the surgeons and doctors to take a picture of the child's surgery with her chest spread wide open and her heart clearly exposed. Even capturing a video of the child's heart beating inside the little girl's chest. I find it unusual to want to film a surgery then on top of that your child's. You see videos on Youtube and you just wonder. The couple finds nothing wrong and even the child doesn't think nothing of it. Is it just me or is this insensitive and morbid?
