Why have no tripedal or tripodal animals evolved?

In the physics section there was a question as to whether a 3-legged table(i.e. a tripod) would wobble the serious answers said that the triangle was the strongest self-supporting structure. Seems strange that during the millions of years of evolution there seems to be no evidence of tripedalism/tripodal development
