Please Help!!!!! Gecko or Snake?

I already have gerbils and I <3 them to death! My parents are letting me choose another pet :D I am such an indecisive person. Should I get a Panther Gecko or a Rough Green Snake? I like animals that like to be held. Don't worry I will spend time with both equally. I love animals. So which should I get? Thanks.
