Which president laid the cornerstone for the Washington Monument on July 4, 1850?

There was a ceremony which took place on the national anniversary in 1850. President Zachary Taylor attended and chose to celebrate the event with some cherries and chilled cream. He later fell ill and died some time later. I am not entirely sure what the illness was, though some have called it cholera, an epidemic disease in the US throughout the 19th century.
